MM Driver Sam Myers Charges Hard in #33 ITA CRX
source url Lexington, OH – After spending the previous 3 days crewing for Freedom Autosport in the Grand Am CTSCC Street Tuner class, Sam Myers hopped into the driver’s seat of his #33 ITA Honda CRX Si at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The morning qualifying session would prove to be a soggy one, and Myers would struggle to get a grip on the rain line at Mid-Ohio, spinning on lap 4 and settling for a 25th place qualifying effort in the 55 car field. Myers’ luck in the 10-lap Qualifying race wouldn’t prove to be any better, as he would pull into the pit lane at the completion of lap 1 after the car had died and he was unable to refire. After a flat tow back to the paddock a quick diagosis found that a wire going from the kill switch to the distributor had pulled out of it’s connector, and follwing a quick 30 second wiring fix, the car was ready to go for the 19-lap feature race.
